Like coming home
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at our home away from home Bedarra Beach Inn. This being our 3rd stay at Bedarra we knew that it would be hassle free and relaxed. It was good to see the little changes and improvements and also to see the nice cosy feel had not been lost. It was also great to see nearly all the same staff we had met on previous visits and within hours of arriving it felt like we had never left. Yes the rooms are , well roomy and the food amazing the location idyllic but it was ,as always the staff who make this hotel such a wonderful place to stay. I will not single out any body in particular because each and every one who works there are like friends and will do anything to make your stay happy. We have progressively had longer and longer stays each time and it is never long enough.Whilst not a criticism , it would be good for the hotel to provide activities for the older children who seem to be there more frequently these days. I could find superlatives in the dictionary to describe Bedarra but nothing beats saying it is like a home away from home. Thank you again to all the staff ,my wife and I will miss you, Ok especially Manoa ( and his twin Lol) , Betta and beautiful Lucy you are treasures.
Very relaxing stay
It was so nice to spend a week at the Bedarra Beach Inn with all of the wonderful and friendly staff who all helped make our stay so relaxing. Being a small 'resort' it was easy to strike up a conversation around the bar or the pool with other guests. We also enjoyed the meals and if there were a few more premium wines on offer it would have been perfect.
First time to Fiji
This was our first trip to Fiji and my wife first time out of Australia. What a place to pick for a weeks holiday. Accommodation very good facilities excellent and the hospitality second to none with food that will make any one very happy. What makes Bedarra so special are the people from the gardener to the chef they all make you feel that you are a VIP.
My family and I visited the Bedarra Inn recently whilst staying at the nearby Outrigger Resort. We were immediately welcomed with such fantastic Bula spirit when we dined, that we ended up coming back for 2 more visits. In particular, we would like to thank Jonathan for his outstanding customer service! We thoroughly enjoyed all of our meals and our wallet certainly enjoyed the very reasonable prices. Thanks to trip advisor prior to arriving on the Coral Coast, we knew that the Bedarra Inn was one spot not to miss. x
A Wonderful 2 days at Bedarra
We chose to stay at Bedarra for the last 2 nights of our Fiji trip and we are so glad we did. It was the best way to wind down after a rather hectic 2 weeks of travelling around Viti Levu as well as attending a wedding and flying to Ovalau. We were more than happy with our room which was clean and spacious. The restaurant served excellent food and Happy Hour was fun. Your staff were all so good to us and made us feel very welcome.
There was only one small problem we encountered. We were driving a hire car during our stay and we found it difficult to locate your establishment because of a lack of signage. In the big picture this was only a minor hiccup and the friendly security staff at Outrigger put us on the right track!!
If we return to Fiji we will definitely be booking in at Bedarra especially now that we know how to get there!!
Vin aka vakalevu...
Mrs Lani White has just about said it al. No one o
In our group will ever forget our wonderful eight days with you! I actually miss the lovely banter we had with the staff. Our meals were superb and our rooms were just fantastic.
I agree with Lani on the smoking and the pool. As Australians we are very used to no smoking inside at all.
Nevertheless we had the very best week we have ever had, relaxing, convivial and spoilt!
Sue,Don,and Jesse Leayr, jack Leayr and Danielle squire!
Best little hotel on the Coral Coast
We loved our stay with you and especially loved the warmth of the people working at the Bedarra Inn. Thank you so much, we will tell our friends in California how nice it is to stay with you. We had spent a hectic family three weeks in Australia and Bedarra was just what we needed to relax and enjoy your island hospitality. Thanks so much.
Vinaka vakalevu to my Bedarra family!
Just over a week ago, my husband and I got married at Outrigger on the Lagoon. However,we chose to stay at Bedarra Beach Inn for the week, and we are so glad we did. The price was so affordable for the week, and we definitely preferred staying in a smaller resort where our room wasn't too far away from our friends' rooms, reception, the BBI Spa, the pool, the restaurant, and most importantly, the bar.
Bedarra is so close-knit, that the entire staff became our family for the week. We were amazed that we would walk around Bedarra the day after checking-in, and the staff would greet each of us by name, instead of Ma'am/Sir.
We had about 60 guests attend our wedding, with the majority of them choosing to also stay at Bedarra. The staff were so kind and friendly to all of us, helping out whenever and wherever they could, and being so accommodating to such a big group (especially at Happy Hour, where we would often occupy the entire bar).
Big shout-outs to Betta, Manoa, Jiten, Mere, Viliame, Sala, Vesi, Saki, Vani, Mateo, and a big thank you to the lovely Housekeeping lady with the beautiful singing voice (I think it was maybe Salote) - thank you for looking after us!
I loved staying at Bedarra because the rooms were huge (they were at least double the size of the Outrigger rooms I saw, while over there). They are in the process of renovating the rooms, and my friend was lucky enough to be given the first room to be renovated, so I got to have a sneak-peek - it was very stylish! I also love the fact that the rooms had huge sliding glass doors, which allowed in a lot of natural light. I also liked the fact that there were no TVs in the room - it made our Bedarra experience much more relaxing, and everyone was outside by the pool enjoying time together, instead of spending their holiday in their room watching TV. Another thing I really loved about our room was the HUGE bathroom, with SO much bathroom bench space (such a girly thing to say, I know)! And the little animals (a frog and a swan) the Housekeeping staff made with the towels each day were completely adorable.
I absolutely loved the Bedarra menus. The lunch and dinner menus boasted both traditional Fijian cuisine (Kokoda, Ika Vakalolo, as well as some amazing curry platters), as well as some classic favourites (burgers, fish and chips, steak). I thought the pizza menu was a fantastic idea - delicious too! One of our friends was vegetarian and raved about the Vegetarian Curry Platter. Everything was very reasonably priced, and the fruit and vegetables just tasted to fresh!
It's so hard for me to pick my one favourite part of Bedarra, but Happy Hour would come close. The cocktail list is extensive and the Papaya Surprise was a favourite among many in our group. It was especially delicious since it was made from fresh papaya, blended up right in front of us - yum! There were times when we would completely occupy the bar - with close to 30 of our group who were staying at Bedarra, as well as our friends from other resorts who would come and enjoy Happy Hour with us too, but the bar staff were completely accommodating and were always working so hard to get our many, many (MANY) cocktails made.
On our last day, we asked if we could have our Happy Hour Piña Coladas served in actual coconuts, and someone from the Maintenance staff went and picked eight coconuts for us.
Both my husband and I had massages at BBI Spa, and they were perfect! Very professional and relaxing.
The few guests who chose to stay at other resorts, ended up spending most of their time at Bedarra with us, and they often commented on how nice it was to be greeted by name (by the Bedarra staff) each time they came to visit. Most of them stated that they wished they stayed at Bedarra, as everyone was so friendly, and the rooms were so big!
All that being said, there were just a couple things that, although they didn't take away from our overall Bedarra experience, could maybe use some change: Firstly, I didn't like that people could smoke at the bar (especially since it is inside, near reception and the restaurant). I also thought the pool had a little too much chlorine in it. And that's it - they're the only two bad things I have to say about Bedarra.
We will definitely be coming back to this place - it's affordable, clean, kid-friendy, welcoming, and most importantly, it's fun! Thank you, Bedarra for making our week the most enjoyable holiday ever!
Great place to relax
Just returned from 5 night stay at Bedarra Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, friendly staff, great food, relaxing environment. The rooms are basic but clean...no TV...you actually have time to relax, read, swim, walk, sleep and simply \'be\'. I am more than happy to recommend Bedarra as a place to stay. In is smaller than a number of the other resorts therefore more intimate and you get to know the other guests if your feeling social. One of the owners lives on premises. The staff always have smiles and time to chat whilst going about their duties. There are others who quietly get on with their jobs to make your stay that bit special. Thanks to All and Bulla...
Personalised and friendly
A wonderful place for a holiday, away from the commercialised larger resorts. The Bedarra Beach Inn provides a friendly and relaxed environment at very competitive rates. The hotel restaurant was also a wonderful experience with great food and relaxed staff. We will not hesitate to again choose the Bedarra Beach Inn for our next stay in Fiji.
